However, despite the fact that honey contains small amounts of vitamins and minerals, when it comes to counting calories it is basically equivalent to sugar. Therefore, the belief that honey is helpful in weight loss is false. If you want to use a sugar substitute, we suggest you choose an artifical sweetener like sucralose or saccharine.
